In memory of Prof. Dr. NURI BILGIN

Nuri Bilgin, who was born in 15th October 1948 in Sandıklı, Afyon, graduated from Pedagogy Chair of Philosophy Department of Faculty of Humanities, Ankara University. Bilgin, being teacher of philosophy branch in 1969-1970 educational year in Kozan, Adana, went to France to do a doctorate supported by the Ministry of National Education in 1971. After completing his doctorate in university of Strasbourg Louis Pasteur in 1976 and coming back to Turkey, in that year, Bilgin took part in establishment of Faculty of Letters of Ege University and started to work as research assistant in Ege University. Bilgin got a title of associate professorship in 1981 and professorship in 1988. Prof. Dr. Bilgin, who hold various academic and administrative offices, chronologically fulfilled duties of head of Social Psychology subfield of Faculty of Letter, Ege University; vice-dean of Faculty of Letter of Ege University; dean of Faculty of Letter of Ege University; chairman of Psychology Department of Faculty of Letter, Ege University; and member of senate of Ege University. Bilgin studied on various subfields of social psychology such as communication psychology, environmental psychology, industrial psychology and also had many qualified publications in social sciences area that were in Turkish and foreign language, copy-righted and translated. Besides his academic works, Prof. Dr. Bilgin, who had 21 books, published many articles related to his area in various articles and newspapers.
